3.5 Miles

That's how far we rode our bikes today. I haven't ridden for over two months. My legs felt like jell-o before we were even off our street. My upper back was stiff by the time we'd ridden a block. My hands were asleep within 10 minutes. * What does this mean for me? I need to ride WAY more often.

Part of my problem is I'm SO afraid I'm going to crash. This is why my hands fall asleep and my upper back stiffens up. I'm tense. I need to relax.

I love bike riding. I love to get out in the fresh air. I love to feel the sun on my shoulders. I love seeing the neighborhood, and all the different ways the yards are landscaped.

I want to keep this riding up. I want to be able to ride without the numbness and fear. I know the only way to do this is to keep on keeping on!!

****WARNING****
Adult Dooce.com-like content

I said in my last post that I wanted to write more like Dooce. Well, here's my first stab at it. Men, you may stop reading now!!

*I failed to mention that my LADY PARTS also went numb!!

All right, men. It's safe now. I've gotten in touch with my inner Dooce!! I'm so proud of me! Next thing you know, I'll be getting hate mail from my father!! (If you don't read her, you must think I've completely lost it! READ HER!! Dooce.com You won't be sorry you did it!)

'Member Me?

Hi! It's been awhile! How have you been? Have you missed me? I've missed you!

Because of a little website known as Facebook, I haven't been blogging. I post the goings on of my little family there as statuses. But there are stories. Oh, the stories. I'm hoping to get back into the blogging habit. It may be slow at first, but hang by me. I'll get there.

I've started following some blogs. I really look forward to seeing new posts from these women.

www.thenheathersaid.blogspot.com
This is Heather. She is a leader of a Sparkpeople team I was on. She is wise, brave, witty, strong, and not afraid to say "Want to know me? Here's my heart, welcome to it." I hope to eventually be as brave and strong as she is.

www.dooce.com
This is a different Heather. She is a well known blogger. You may have heard of her. You may have read her. You may have been offended by her. You may have secretly wished to be her. She, like the first Heather, is also brave, but in a completely different way. If a thought enters her head, she doesn't check her filter. She says (err.. types) it. I hope to eventually be as hysterical and "no holds barred" as she is.

I guess that's it for now. I'm going to have to poke around and refigure things out here. I don't even remember how to add pictures, make those blog addresses links, and all that! I'll get it. Just be patient with me.

Our Shared Love

I can't even tell you how happy it makes me that Cameron loves to read. We go to the library every other week. He loves library day. I love the quiet time that always happens when we get home from library day!

We both camp out on my bed and read our new treasures. Robbie ususally goes into his room and listens to music. That's fine, too!

What Do I Do When I'm Alone And Bored?

I drive for an hour and 45 minutes to see Gary Sinise and the Lt.Dan Band! What else? It was strange going to a concert by myself, but it isn't like any conversation could be heard. It was crowded, loud, and way fun! I couldn't get many good pictures (or any good ones at all!) because I'm so freaking short! But it was fun. I'm glad I went. Now I'm off to watch my tivo'd episodes of CSI:NY!

And speaking of New York...I MISS YOU, BILL!!! COME HOME SOON!!!

The Tree Lady

I remember how much I used to love driving past this tree when I was a little girl! I always thought it was the coolest thing ever. And it still is very cool! And, for those of you who know where this tree is, yes, I'm all right. I didn't get shot or anything!

Necessary?

I don't think so.

It's an LED light on a hand dryer. Why?

Fond Of Hats

If I were brave, I'd sport this look. Jason Mraz and I could share.

Cam's Birthday Gift

He's been wanting cowboy boots for 2 years. I can't wait for his birthday! For Cameron, this is going to be the perfect gift! Only 17 more days to go. I'd better wrap them up, or I'll be too tempted to give them to him now!
