Never before have I ever felt this safe in the shower. Although, it's a little small to have four other people in there with me!

I Think I'm Going To Hell
Cameron has a really bad habit. After putting him to bed, he lays in his bed and talks to himself. I always have to tell him over and over again that it's bed time, and he needs to stop talking. Tonight, after telling him several times to stop talking, I yelled for him to stop talking and to go to sleep. He yells back from his room, "I will in a minute, Mom. I'm almost done praying!" Oops. My bad.

Apple Picking Day
We took the guys up to Oak Glen today to pick our own apples. We've never done this before, but I think it's going to become a tradition for our little family. We had the best time! And next time, I won't wear flip flops.

Dean Koontz
Today, we got to see my very favorite author of all time. Dean R. Koontz. I've been reading his books since I was 12. I've loved nearly all of them. So, can you imagine how excited I was to find out that he was doing a very rare book signing not too far from my house? We made the drive down to Oceanside this morning. We arrived at the dog training facility about an hour before the scheduled event. We were to be number 63 in line for the signing.
Dean arrived, and spoke for about 30 minutes. Then it was time to get in line. We were thanking God we got there early. We waited in line for about an hour and a half. It was worth every minute. He signed our books, talked to us for a few minutes, and, as you can see, took a picture with us! It was great. I felt bad for the people who got number 305, but, hey! They should have been on time!
We saw some amazing dogs. We have a new favorite charity. Canine Companions For Independence. Check them out. www.cci.org
It was a great day!

Not Very Good
Today I learned that I don't really like Tostitos Hint of Lime. To me, it tasted like a tortilla chip dipped in key lime pie.

Mamma Bear
A few hours ago, Robbie and Brandon came running into the house. Apparently, a man (or woman, not really sure) in a white van yelled at them, "Hey, kids! Get over here!" Like the good, smart boys they are, they ran right into the house and told me. Of course, there was no sign of any white van. I called the police anyway. About 15 minutes later, the officer showed up. He came in, talked to the boys, told me there was nothing to worry about and he would patrol the neighborhood, and left. In between the time I called, and the time he showed up, the boys admitted that maybe it was their other friend Jerrin calling them and trying to scare them. I don't really know if that is true or not, but I told them they needed to tell the officer the truth. They are 9-year olds, so do they really know what that means? Who knows.

Seriously?
So, here is the conversation I had with Cameron this afternoon:
M: Look! That car has tons of Ducks stuff on it!
C: The Ducks are my favorite team. The St. Louis Blues are my second favorite. Andy McDonald is on that team, and he is my favorite player still.
M: Cameron, why is it you can remember a team name that we haven't mentioned in 6 months, but you can't remember your own dogs name?
C: I remember it, Mom! It's Cali!
Close. It's Chloe.

Tae Kwon Do Funny
So, today after Tae Kwon Do, one of the little boys was waiting for his mom. The instructors don't let the kids leave the building until their parents are there. This little boy asked me if I could go out to see if his mom was there yet. I told him that I would go look for her, and asked what kind of car she drove. He looked at me with a serious look on his face and said, "Automatic."
Thanks, Infomercials!

Boys, Boys, And Even More Boys!
I have a LOT of little boys in my house right now. Robbie is here. He is playing with Garrett from his class. Brandon from two doors down is here. Jerrin from across the street is here. Jerrin brought his friend Potato with him. They are all playing Guitar Hero. I WAS watching Ellen. So much for that. Now, if only Cameron were here, too. I think the house might burst if he were, though...

I Did It!
I found a poem I actually like!
Pitcher
His art is eccentricity, his aim
How not to hit the mark he seems to aim at.
His passion how to avoid the obvious,
His technique how to vary the avoidance.
The others throw to be comprehended. He
Throws to be a moment misunderstood.
Yet not too much. Not errant, arrant, wild,
But every seeming aberration willed.
Not to, yet still, still to communicate
Making the batter understand too late.

I Just Realized...
I Heart You...
..for many, many reasons.
1. You have yummy food already prepared for me to take home.
2. We can have a complete steak dinner for less than $20. For ALL of us!
3. You have friendly workers who we are getting to know by name.
4. You have a few choices of any specific item. Not 20,000 choices.
5. You are not Trader Joe's.
Fresh & Easy, you have a special place in my heart.

The Sweet, Sweet Smell of...
NOTHING! A week ago Thursday, I got down on my hands and knees, and with my face in my shirt, scrubbed the boys bathroom floor. For hours!. Okay, not really. For about 45 minutes, though. Friday afternoon, they went to their dads, and didn't return until Wednesday evening. We spent all day Thursday at Disneyland, and they returned to their dad's on Friday. For A WEEK AND A HALF there hasn't been the reek of ammonia coming from down the hall. It's been lovely. I've missed the guys terribly, but it's been nice to not have to hold my breath every time I walk down my hallway. They are coming home tomorrow, so I think I will walk up and down the hallway several times today, just to inhale the sweet nothingness. Seriously. God gave them perfect little (sorry) aimers. What's with the peeing on the floor/wall/counter/bathtub/light fixtures? I just don't get it.

I LOVE getting comments on my blog. Lately, all I've gotten are spamish comments. I don't know what they are all about. They always say Click here or Click here. Yeah, right. Like I'm going to click there. STOP IT! It's pissing me off!!!

To My Friends
I'm sure you've all seen this before, but I think it's great!
To my best friends, I promise these 10 things:
1. When you are sad — I will help you get drunk and plot revenge against the sorry bastard who made you sad.
2. When you are blue — I will try to dislodge whatever is choking you. I’m the Heimlich queen.
3. When you smile — I will know you are plotting something that must include me.
4. When you are scared — I will rag on you about it every chance I get until you have no more fear.
5. When you are worried — I will tell you stories about how much Worse it could be until you quit complaining.
6. When you are grumpy — I will pop the backs of your knees with mine until you fall down laughing.
7. When you are confused — I will use little words.
8. When you are sick — Stay the hell away from me until you are well. I don’t want whatever you have.
9. When you fall — I will help you up but not before I point and laugh at your clumsy ass.
10. When you have to pee — Don’t look at me, I don’t follow other women to the rest room.
This is my oath…. I pledge it to the end. “Why?” you may ask; “because you are my friend”.
Friendship is like peeing in your pants, everyone can see it,But only you can feel the true warmth.

Reason 4,932,875 Why I Love Bill
In the middle of a very stressful day, Bill came over. He saw that I had had about as much as I could take, and knew that I still had tae kwon do, dinner, and Robbie's tutoring to deal with. He told me to go lay down, and he would take the guys to their TKD lesson. He said to lay down and not do anything. I agreed. Next thing I knew, I was waking up to a Robbie kiss and his sweet little raspy voice saying, "Mommy, we're home." It was 40 minutes of much needed rest. Thank you, honey. I love you!
